Construction of Building Intelligence Laboratory


       Intelligent building technology integrates modern computer technology, control technology, communication technology, and through optimized design, provides an environment space with reasonable investment, high efficiency, elegance, comfort, convenience, and high safety. At present, this technology is undergoing vigorous development. In order to meet the demand for talents in intelligent building design, construction, operation, maintenance and other aspects in the new era, and to meet the educational needs of the construction industry, a building intelligence laboratory has been jointly built. The BACnet data communication protocol, which has been widely used in the field of building automation, strives to integrate theory with practice in the content system, attaches more importance to engineering concepts and their application in practical problems, and has made a lot of attempts to improve the experimental teaching level of intelligent building technology
       BACnet is the abbreviation for A Data Communication Protocol for Building Automation and Control Networks, which stands for Building Automation Control Network Data Communication Protocol. At present, BACnet is the direction and mainstream technology for the development of intelligent buildings. It is a pioneering technology that can leverage the advantages of digital technology for environmental control, achieve information exchange and sharing in buildings, and better complete energy management (EM), building performance monitoring, and enhance the diagnostic capabilities of HVAC&R equipment and other building equipment. The application of this technology includes the combination of HVAC&R systems with fire detection, firefighting, and rescue systems; Strengthen the communication between building control systems and public facilities from two aspects: energy management and public facility operation management, so that equipment and systems produced by different manufacturers can be seamlessly integrated into an intelligent system based on interconnection and interoperability.        In recent years, building intelligence has developed rapidly in China.        China adds about 2 billion square meters of new building area every year, and with the government's guidance on standardized and scientific construction of intelligent buildings, the industry is generally optimistic about the development of intelligent buildings. The market urgently needs talents in the field of intelligent building design. In order to meet the needs of the development of automation related education and talent cultivation, many higher education institutions have started the construction of building intelligent laboratories.
       Building intelligence technology is an interdisciplinary application technology, and its laboratory construction should meet the following requirements:
       Firstly, it can comprehensively display the structure and main equipment of each subsystem in the building, realize the main functions of each system, provide a comprehensive training environment for the design and operation management of intelligent building systems, and complete demonstration experiments and operational experiments.
       Secondly, through cooperation with equipment providers, an open system platform will be provided for students' exploratory learning and teachers' scientific research, further tracking and improving the level of intelligent building integration technology.
       After careful research and full consideration of the relationship between the authenticity and theory of the system, an experimental system that combines physical objects and models, software simulation and hardware simulation techniques, and simulation and practical engineering is appropriately utilized. The experimental system mainly includes four subsystems.
       (1) 1 monitoring center. The monitoring center centrally monitors and manages monitoring points in various training rooms, laboratory classrooms, and corridors.
       (2) Three simulation equipment training rooms and three digital equipment training rooms. Each training room includes subsystems such as access control system, monitoring system, fire protection system, and comprehensive cabling system. The upper part of the training room adopts transparent

       (4) Smart home. It can achieve centralized supervision of various electrical equipment, safety protection equipment, and fire-fighting equipment.
       At present, the laboratory has shown significant effectiveness in practical teaching, adapting to the needs of intelligent buildings for new technologies and the cultivation of such talents in today's society. At the same time, we still have many shortcomings and need further construction and improvement in order to build a fully functional and intelligent building laboratory. On such a new technology platform, while doing a good job in practical teaching, we should strengthen the combination of industry, academia, and research, fully leverage the advantages of relevant professional resources and talents, better promote the construction of the building intelligence profession, research, development, and utilization of technology, and further promote the application of modern new technologies in this profession in China, creating greater value.
